Congratulations to Trustee Ruth Curzon, who has dedicated ten years of service to our fantastic charity. Ruth was presented with her certificate last week at the Volunteers Lunch at Courteenhall. Ruth commented:
“It’s been such a journey with Home-Start. I’m trained NNEB, and after my children had gone to school, I wanted to work with the younger children again. I started volunteering with a lovely family of four boys, including one set of newly born twins, and the eldest had Down’s syndrome. I was hands-on with the second eldest as the mum felt he was getting missed out. I spent a year helping and have remained close friends with the family ever since.
I went on to help with fundraising activities, and in the last eight years, I joined as a trustee on the board. Over this time, I have seen funds reduce and the struggle to keep the volunteers doing their incredible work helping families in their own homes. Covid has had its complications, but we have a great team of volunteers, trustees, and staff who are passionate and dedicated to helping continue the excellent support we give to so many families across West Northamptonshire.”
Thank you Ruth for your dedication over the years. Your experience has been so valuable and very much appreciated.
