Home-Start Daventry & South Northants Team raise an amazing £900+ for families in West Northamptonshire by cycling on a very wet Sunday.
A massive well done to all of the Home-Start Daventry and South Northants team who decided to partake in a charity bike ride that kicked off at Towcester Mill Brewery on a very wet Sunday! The course was split into two route options; The Fun Ride or Half Pint, which is 35 miles with 623m of elevation, and the Challenge Ride or Full Pint, which is 60 miles with a elevation of 1058m.
Taking part was Scheme Manager Matt Forman, his partner Dee and their friend Mel, alongside our trustee Caroline, her husband, and friends. Matt commented, ‘We all got very wet; however, we had just about dried out by the end. I had hardly been on a bicycle for about 25 years until recently, so 35 miles was a real challenge to build up to. I feel very proud of myself for having completed the ride; however, I might not be wanting to ride up the Eydon hill again (more than happy to come down it, though!). Dee, Mel, and I are up for a challenge and already thinking about what next. We thoroughly deserved our bottle of beer when we finished!’
Well done, everyone! You deserve a medal for cycling in all that rain!
If you would like to donate (however big or small), all donations are greatly received and still coming through.
